Porcelain with intergrated colored clay pinch pot, with hand painted anthopomorphic flowers. These pieces were conceived to be raku fired, but I made too many for the time we had, so I fired this one at my studio the way I usually fire my pieces. This way i could add gold details for the pleasure of your eyes.

Raku firing is a process where we fire the pieces outside and they are putted very hot in wood chips, this creates a fire and smoke that tint the raw areas black. The temperature choc and the underfiring create a pattern of crackles. This process is by default imperfect. The pieces are decorative and not food technically food safe because they are not fully waterproof, but they are traditionally used for plain tea in japan. (ceremonial tea without sugar or milk) Be aware that those pieces are very fragile and may have cracks in the walls of the piece, if so they have been sealed with a glass epoxy.

contains approximately 200 ml.
