nerikomi class, express canes: mixed level class. This is a shorten class to make the cost more affordable.

*all included: stains, clay, tools, protection gear, glaze  and firings.

You will learn: 

nerikomi techniques:  canes, basic patterns, collage, and building pieces with colored clay. 

example of individual projects: 

beginner student: small dishes, tea cups, thumblers, small bowls...

intermediate student: mugs, vases, pots with feet...

advanced student: tea set with a teapot and 4 tea bowls, sculpture, large dishes...

(the levels are regarding hand building clay techniques, I expect that all are beginners in coloured clay designing)

Schedule: 6 classes thursday evenings 

6:30 pm to 9:30 pm: demonstrations (about 1 hour) + individual work (about 2 hours)

9:30 pm: wrap up and cleaning (15 min to 30 min)

february 13 :  basic patterns with colored clay (part 2)

• lines: waves, zigzags...
• natural illusions: wood, stone, granit...

february 20 : collage and laminating

• how to join slices of blocks and canes in a composition
• laminating 2 slabs to have a different inside and outside
• surface collage

february 27 : individual projects

• slab compositions

march 6th :  individual projects

• construction

march 13th :  no class: week off or extra time to finish projects.

•  autonomous work at studio renting costs

march 20th :  

• finishing techniques at different stages, greenware, bone-dry, bisque.
• glazing (I will glaze the pieces that are not bisqued at this point  after the class and call you to come pick them up later)

*Classes will be in person in my studio. All tools and materials are included.
